Bwyd Sonique is a truly multi-sensory improvised performance, intended to nourish, entertain and enlighten; an entertainment that you can see, hear, smell, touch and taste.

Each short self-contained performance is intimate and personalised. Over a small gas stove, small samples of delicious, mouth-watering and olfactory-gland-tingling food and drink are created according to particpants' requirements. Flavours and aromas that tease, arouse, exhilarate, thrill, caress.

Meanwhile, the sounds of cooking are amplified and processed, uncovering the hidden musicality of the kitchen – the steady and insistent rhythm of stirring, the drones and hisses of heat-on-pan, the chatter and bubble of boiling water.

Watching, smelling and hearing the food being prepared, you are enveloped and invested in the cooking process, as you eagerly anticipate the end product.

In this 'band' format, the artists create a single performance piece live on stage and can accomodate a large audience.
