Mellors will produce 21st Century War Film, a 16mm film short set
in the landscape. The theme of the film centres on the increasingly abstract
trajectory of contemporary warfare and concept of enemy, the
role of computer technology and our uncertainty around the role and potential
threat of chemical and biological warfare.
Paul Rooney makes work that is interested in the everyday
and its transformation and estrangement when 'set to music'. Rooney will
stage a rock opera, Tony, based on a press cutting discovered in the Stan
Laurel Museum, Ulverston, outlining the journey of the man who did the
voiceover for the Generation Game and his relocation to America, where
he married Stan Laurels daughter.
Juneau Projects rebel HQ base camp in the Roadshow environs,
kitted out as their centre of operations. They will provide tours of the
facility for visitors through out the event with various demonstrations
of what they use it for.
Jo Roberts will interact with visitors and members from
the local community. She becomes Vic the Roadshow Runner,
an asexual character who will engage people through the advocacy of contemporary
art, with a costume designed in conjunction with FlatPack001.
Minerva Cuevas will produce a series of activist banners
and marketing materials, continuing her work for her corporation MVC.
Artist hermit
Graeme Roger will live in the forest/outdoors at each venue for
the duration of the tour. This project also corresponds to a school workshop
activity where a class can contribute to the contract that will govern
his activities for the duration. The hermit comes available with his own
hut designed by FAT.
Guy Bar Amotz enacts performances with sound sculptures
made by Amotz himself (Matthew Barneyesque sci-fi looking backpacks),
incorporating the public to create an impromptu band.
Olaf Breuning produces a photographic poster based on themes
drawn from Roadshow concept.
S Mark Gubb will build large-scale henges out of found materials
(stone, slate, cardboard boxes) with the public.

Butler stuntman extraordinaire, Will performs as Harry in costume
on BMX and reading from Harrys autobiography.
Roddy Thomson and Colin Lowe install The
Heel Bar, a colourful interpretation of low-key amateur business.
Mark Titchner creates a banner for base camp inspired by
Roadshow project and venues.
Henry VIIIs Wives will create new work responding
to Roadshow curatorial concept.
Bedwyr Williams rolls up with Blaenau Vista Social
Club, a towed club caravan/horsebox/burger van with two rare Besenji
dogs standing sentry outside.
The Family Iliffe four member über-art-family
team create artwork interventions throughout the town while operating
under a strictest of briefs that all acts and decisions must be performed
in public, in unison and as a family unit.
Myk Henry will variously explode melons, install airbags
the size of a house and race space-hoppers.
Christian Gräser installs a replica of the 60s
invention Dream Machine inside a pilfered cardboard geodesic
dome.
Real Institute collaborates with Philip Ilson to produce
the touring film programme of over 35 films.
Stefhan Caddick creates 'Pandacoustic' amplified automobile.
Andrew Black creates models of alternative snowdonian lifestyles.
Polly Braden is Roadshow photographer who will tour with
the artists and document work, relationships, performances and experiences.
Scott Williams, stencil artist extraordinaire based in San
Francisco - produced album covers and posters for influential punk bands
in SF. Will produce new poster for Roadshow.
Garyoke make world music without seeing the world, Damien
sings in Welsh but cant speak the language. They irritate whilst
they invigorate you by torturing well known tunes.
Bristol Art Librarian when Bristol
Library chose to cut costs and close down its arts section, The
Bristol Art Librarian turned up on the streets of Bristol complete
with Librarian spectacles and portable art-library-in-a-shopping-trolley.
Megan Broadmeadow with her bad majorette and cleaning pig,
she uses time and repetition to push people's tolerance levels.
