SCI-FI
NIGHT

Memorial Hall, Betws-y-Coed
A cabaret extravaganza of sci-fi shorts plus live music, comedy, live
performance, outmoded computer games, real-life Dalek and preposterous
green chocolate cake.
Marvel! at armageddon space-invader style, Smile! as wee animals take
a bumblebee rocket to the moon, Wonder! at sickly robots, ray-guns, holograms,
spurious beeping noises and outrageous costumes from lo-fi bedroom masterpieces
to infuriatingly big-budget numbers, these are some of the best visions
of the future in independent film with many many award winners including:

Bass Invaders Simon Ellis 5'
An "ultra cool action wonder" where Armageddon meets Space Invaders.
Ellis' work subsitutes cinematic sophistication and naturalistic effetcs
for the chunky graphics and infuriating soundtrack of its primitive
arcade game ancestor.

targetted advertising and entertainment.

EXTN. 21 Lizzie Oxby 9' 2002

running back to his office but getting nowhere. If he could just get
through to Mr Langley everything will be resolved but someone (or
something) is intercepting his calls. Award winning stop frame animation
combined with with live action performance.

Geoff World Destroyer Phil Hall 1'30" 2002
Another moral tale from the Ultra Modern Fable Collection. A 90 second
epic about exclusion.

Metalstasis Matthew Hood 6' 2001
A mechanical man finds his routine disturbed by illness from an unusual
source. Winner of the Audience Award at the Britsh Animation Awards
2002

breed of computer virus threatens world destruction.

HEAD General Lighting and Power 6' 2003
