Things turn creepy with an opportunity to catch a film often cited as being the greatest compendium horror movie. Made by Ealing studios in 1945 the audacious ‘Dead
of Night’ will surprise, amuse and unsettle you in equal measure. The five
spooky stories by four directors are combined into an eerie package as one man’s
nightmare unfolds leading to its unavoidable and memorable climax. Many of the
film’s ideas have become standards of the genre, some were even expanded
into movies in their own right but this is the original and best.
